UBIK is ubiquitous!

Augmensys at the ViVaTech in Paris and simultaneously at the Automatisa 2017 in Bogotà, Colombia!

At this year’s VivaTech in Paris records were broken once again. Over 68,000 visitors, 500 international speakers, 6,000 start-ups and renowned leaders of the international technology sector met in Paris to discuss the opportunities and challenges of digitalization and to present the latest developments.
In cooperation with Vinci Energies UBIK®, Augmensys attended a fair in France for the first time. Thanks to the strong focus of Vinci Energies (partner and shareholder of Augmensys) on new technologies, the exhibition appearance was designed accordingly and CEO Helmut Guggenbichler had the opportunity to present Augmensys at a top booth in best position. With the showcase “UBIK® on HoloLens” he could inspire numerous visitors and introduce UBIK to big players like AirFrance, Total, Air Liquide or EDf.

At the same time, Charles Craddock, CEO of the Brazilian Augmensys attended the Automatisa 2017 in Bogotà, Colombia, in cooperation with our partner Voith.

The Automatisa is one of the biggest fairs for new technologies with the aim of improving production, engineering and management in the process industry in South America. More than 7,000 experts from this area participated the event and were inspired by UBIK and the HoloLens.

For Augmensys, the name reflects the aim … UBIK is ubiquitous!

UBIK and SAP S/4 HANA

To showcase the full scope of the existing UBIK/SAP-Integration, Augmensys and its neighbor at the Lakeside Park, addIT/Atos, just recently integrated a full SAP-demo-system into the UBIK Demo Plant.
The used SAP system already leverages the newest S/4HANA 1610 stack of SAP and enables us also to test and configure the well-proven UBIK/SAP-Interface in even earlier stages of a project, which will result in shorter and more predictable implementations.

Besides that, the partners are planning to extend their cooperation towards SAP-services within UBIK implementation projects, giving Augmensys access to the vast SAP knowhow and expertise of addIT/Atos – thus, our customers can henceforth not only count on extensive UBIK knowhow, but also rely on the concentrated SAP expert knowledge of addIT/Atos.

Furthermore, addIT/Atos also plans to offer UBIK® to its customers in the chemical industry, offering an added value to its own solutions.

Review: CeBit 2017

The CeBit 2017 in Hanover is history. Around 200,000 visitors were counted at the world’s biggest computer fair. There was a lot to see and discover – matching the slogan “Explore the Digital World”.

In the Vodafone Pavilion, “GIGA Factory”, Augmensys presented a showcase on “Industrial Augmented Reality”. Here we not only showcased our newest developments, but also productive applications with the latest generation of industrial mobile devices.

Alexander Mankel, CEO of Augmensys Germany, also participated in the panel discussion on “Giga Factory – Industry 4.0” and discussed the possibilities and limits of the digital future. Topics were: Networked data on Augmented Reality, intelligent merchandise management via Internet of Things and Smart Logistics through telematics.

But what does the production facility of the future look like? Trend researcher Nick from Vodafone looked around the CeBit 2017 and came across Augmensys!

Maintainer 2017 – award ceremony at the Maindays 2017 in Berlin

The safe feeling of having made a valuable contribution to the maintenance of the future and, of course, also the prospect of a trophy, have motivated us to submit an innovative project for the Maintainer 2017.
The pilot project “Inspectionround using iBeacons” seemed to be the right choice and fortunately we received the “Special Prize for Innovation”. After several domestic awards an international award is a special honour, which increases our visibility beyond Austria’s borders.

The award ceremony took place at the Maindays 2017 in Berlin. Alexander Mankel, CEO of Augmensys Germany, was on stage and took the trophy as a representative of the entire team. After that, we were once again able to introduce the project to the numerous audience and the positive feedback we got impressively confirmed that we deserved the prize.

Thanks again to all the colleagues who developed and implemented this project so successfully!

Countdown to UBIK 3 – first Beta version is available!

It’s one of the biggest projects in our still young company history and we’re getting closer to revealing the results.

Almost two years ago we launched a concept called “SmartModeler” and the idea was plain and simple: the design of complex data models should become as easy as sketching them on paper. No translation, nothing in between – just sketch and use.

So prototyping an enterprise-grade mobile application will no longer be an expert task, with UBIK 3 it can soon be conducted by a wide range of people, allowing e.g. a sales person to draft a rapid prototype right during a workshop.

And we are not talking about a UI toolkit, we are talking about end-to-end, from backend integration to the result in the mobile App.
